How do I edit images in the Drag & Drop Email Editor?

Wish you could customize images in your emails? Want to crop, resize, add text, and more in an easy-to-use editor with an Undo button? It's a snap in the Drag & Drop Email Editor!  


Just click on an image in the e-blast and the image settings will open. Click on the magic wand and try out the editing options to create your perfect image! 




Edit image: Click the Edit image icon. When the image editor opens, you will see the following options: 
...and Undo and Redo buttons!




Filter: Click the Filter icon. Select the desired filter. To set the change and continue editing the image, click Apply. If you decide not to apply the changes, click Cancel.


Resize: Click the Resize icon. Resize by adjusting the width and height in pixels, or by percentage. To set the change and continue editing the image, click Apply. If you decide not to keep the changes, click Cancel.


Crop: Click the Crop icon. There are three ways you can crop the image. 
  1. Over the image, you will see grid lines and gray circle handles. Use the handles to drag in or out as needed.

  2. Create a crop box by setting the width and height in pixels. Hover over the box to see the move icon. Click and drag the box into the desired position.

  3. Set an aspect ratio by clicking an Aspect Ratio icon. Click the box over the image and drag it into position. 

To set the change and continue editing the image, click Apply. If you decide not to keep the changes, click Cancel.


Pro tip! Want to crop your image into a square? Choose the 5:4 aspect ratio, then adjust the pixel width and height to be equal.  



Transform:
Click the Transform icon. Use the circling arrows buttons to rotate the image left or right. Use the flip buttons to flip vertically or horizontally. To set the change and continue editing the image, click Apply. If you decide not to keep the changes, click Cancel.


Draw: Click the Draw icon.
  • Brush Color – Choose one of the featured colors or click the palette icon to open the Color Picker.

  • Brush Type – Click the Brush Type icon, select an option and click Apply.

  • Brush Size – Click to select one of the options.
Use your mouse to draw on the image. To set the change and continue editing the image, click Apply. If you decide not to keep the changes, click Cancel.


Text: Click the Text icon.
  • Text Color – Choose one of the featured colors or click the palette icon to open the Color Picker.

  • Add Text – Click the + icon to add a text box to your image. Edit the text as needed. Use the corner handles of the text box to resize the box. This will also resize the text. Use the top handle to rotate the box. Hover over the box to see the move icon then click and drag the box into the desired position

  • Font – Click on the Font drop-down menu. Select a font category from the drop-down menu or search for a specific font using the search bar. Click a font to select it.
To set the changes and continue editing the text, click Apply. If you decide not to keep the changes, click Cancel.

Once you Apply, a further set of text editing options will appear:
  • Text Style – Click the Text Style button. Select an alignment. Select from options of Underline, Strikethrough, or Italics. Click on the Font drop-down menu. Select a font category from the drop-down menu or search for a specific font using the search bar. Click a font to select it. To set the changes and continue editing the text, click Apply. If you decide not to keep the changes, click Cancel.

  • Color – Click the Color button. Choose one of the featured colors or click the palette icon to open the Color Picker. To set the changes and continue editing the text, click Apply. If you decide not to keep the changes, click Cancel.

  • Shadow – Click the Shadow button. To set a color for the shadow, click on the Color button. Choose one of the featured colors or click on the palette icon to open the Color Picker. Next, use the slide bars to adjust the Blur, Offset X, and Offset Y to desired positions. Click Apply to set the change and continue editing the text.

  • Outline – Click the Outline button. Choose one of the featured colors or click on the palette icon to open the Color Picker. Use the slide bar to adjust the width of the outline. Click Apply to set the change and continue editing the text.

  • Background – Click the Background button. Choose one of the featured colors or click on the palette icon to open the Color Picker. Click Apply to set the change and continue editing the text.

  • Texture – Click the Texture button. Select a texture or upload your own texture image by clicking Upload. Click Apply to set the change and continue editing the text.
NOTE: If you apply a texture, you won’t see the background color choice previously selected.
  • Gradient – Click the Gradient button. Select a gradient. Click Apply to set the change and continue editing the text.
NOTE: If you apply a gradient, you won’t see background color choice or texture previously selected.
  • Opacity – Click the Opacity button. Use the slide bar to change the opacity of the shape. Click Apply to set the change and continue editing the text.

Shapes: Click the Shapes icon. Select a shape and click Apply. The shape editing options will open. After applying any of the following options, click the shape to re-open the shape editing options.
  • Move – Use the corner handles of the shape to resize. Use the top handle to rotate the shape. Hover over the shape to see the move icon. Click and drag the shape into the desired position. Click Apply to set the change and continue editing the shape.

  • Color – Click the Color button. Choose one of the featured colors or click on the palette icon to open the Color Picker.

  • Shadow – Click the Shadow button. To set a color for the shadow, click the Color button. Choose one of the featured colors or click on the palette icon to open the Color Picker. Next, use the slide bars to adjust the Blur, Offset X, and Offset Y to desired positions. Click Apply to set the change and continue editing the shape.

  • Outline – Click the Outline button. Choose one of the featured colors or click on the palette icon to open the Color Picker. Use the slide bar to adjust the width of the outline. Click Apply to set the change and continue editing the shape.

  • Background – Click the Background button. Choose one of the featured colors or click on the palette icon to open the Color Picker. Click Apply to set the change and continue editing the shape.

  • Texture – Click the Texture button. Select a texture or upload your own texture image by clicking Upload. Click Apply to set the change and continue editing the shape.

    NOTE: If you apply a texture you won’t see the background color choice previously selected.

  • Gradient – Click the Gradient button. Select a gradient. Click Apply to set the change and continue editing the shape.

  • Opacity – Click the Opacity button. Use the slide bar to change the opacity of the shape. Click Apply to set the change and continue editing the shape.

Pro tip! If you add in multiple Shapes and/or Text boxes, you can select which object should be layered over another. Click the object you want on top. A pop-up menu will appear on the left. Select the Bring to front icon.  



Frame:
Click the Frame icon. Click the frame style you wish to add then click the gear icon to use the slide bar to adjust the size of the frame. To set the change and continue editing the image, click Apply. If you decide not to keep the changes, click Cancel




Corners: Click the Corners icon. Use the slide bar to adjust the Radius of the corners. To set the change and continue editing the image, click Apply. If you decide not to keep the changes, click Cancel.


Background: Click the Background icon. Choose one of the featured colors or click on the palette icon to open the Color Picker. To set the change and continue editing the image, click Apply. If you decide not to keep the changes, click Cancel.


Merge: Click the Merge icon to fuse objects added to the image. This takes them out of layering. You won’t be able to edit the objects once they’ve been merged.

Once you have completed your edits, click Save. This will add the edited version to your e-blast and save a copy of the edited image to the LibraryAware Image Library. Use this edited image in any other LibraryAware items you choose! 

NOTE: Once the edited image has been saved you will not be able to make further edits to the changes made. You can edit it by creating new edits, but previously saved edits are permanent. If you need to change saved edits, click on Change image to re-add the original image and then edit from scratch.




When adding an image to an item you can quickly locate your saved image in the LibraryAware Image Selector by choosing Exclude Stock Photos from the Source drop-down. Or, if you know the name of the file, enter it in the search bar. 

Edited images naming convention


Image copies will keep their original file name followed by an underscore, la, and date/timestamp. They will save as a .png file.

For example: 


  • Original image: Stack of books.jpg
  • Edited copy: Stack of books_la230622154123.png
