How do I add a QR code to my item?

These instructions apply to templates that use the Classic editor, as well as emails and newsletters.

QR codes can be added to any item to point your patrons to more information.  Once you publish or print your item, scans of your QR code will be tracked under the Reports section. Click on Metrics under Folders and then the Links tab.

To add a QR code to your item:

Note: The QR code link will only work once the item is published or printed.

  1. Insert your cursor in the place that you want to add the QR code.  Note that QR Codes can only be inserted in text areas.
  2. The formatting toolbar will appear at the top of the editor.
  3. Click the Insert QR Code icon.
  4. A pop-up window will display, asking where you want the QR code to link.  Select one of the following options:
    1. This item – The QR code will link to an online view of the item.
    2. A custom URL – The window will expand with a field for you to enter the URL that you want the QR code to link to.
  5. Click the Insert QR Code button.
  6. You can resize the QR code to fit the area on your item by grabbing a handle that appears in the corner of the code.  Drag your mouse to resize the QR code.
