Can LibraryAware integrate with Stacks?

Yes! You can add LibraryAware promotional and newsletter widgets to your Stacks website. You can embed your email opt-in page to your website using an iFrame. And you can link your Stacks RSS feeds to LibraryAware to quickly add blog posts, news, or programs and events to newsletters and e-blasts.

Widgets

Stacks allows you to edit the HTML code for your content sections, so you can easily add a LibraryAware promotional or newsletter widget. See the book jacket carousels (newsletter widgets) this library added to their Teen page.

  1. In LibraryAware, generate the code for your widget container.
*Only users with the Administrator user role will be able to create widget containers.

  2. In Stacks, open the editor for the content section where you will add your widget.

  3. Click the Source button to switch to the HTML code for the section.

  4. Add your widget container code to the existing code for the section.

PRO TIP! Widget templates that are perfect for Stacks are tagged with the word "Stacks" and the type of Stacks container they best fit into. Use these keywords to search for the widget templates you need!
  • 3:1 widgets: Stacks, Large Slider, Mini Slider
  • 4:3 widgets: Stacks, Callout
  • 3:2 widgets: Stacks, Events & News Articles

iFrame

An iFrame is an HTML tag used to embed a web page within another web page. You can use an iFrame to embed your LibraryAware opt-in page to a page of your library's website, just like this library.

  1. In LibraryAware, get your library's opt-in page link.
*Only users with the Administrator user role will be able to access the Opt-In Pages section.

  2. In Stacks, open the editor for the content section where you will add your iFrame.

  3. Click the Source button to switch to the HTML code for the section.

  4. Add the iFrame tag and opt-in page URL to the existing code for the section.

    Example:
<iframe src="http://libraryaware.com/7nQ/Subscribers/Subscribe" title="Sign up for Library News and Reading Recommendations"></iframe>

PRO TIP! Always include a title attribute with your iFrame to make it more accessible to individuals using screen readers to view your website.

RSS Feed

You can link your Stacks RSS feeds to LibraryAware to quickly add blog posts, news, or programs and events to newsletters and e-blasts.
  1. In Stacks, locate the RSS feed icon.

  2. Click the RSS icon

  3. A new browser tab will open. Copy the URL from the address bar.

  4. Under Admin in LibraryAware, use the URL to add the RSS feed as a Data Source.
*Only users with the Administrator user role will be able to access the Admin section.
