I want to use NextReads newsletters to promote my programs and services

You’re already emailing readers about a topic they love. Now’s the time to tell them about a program, event, or service they’ll love, too. Talk about target marketing! Here’s how one library promotes several services at the end of their newsletter and another that promotes an e-resource at the top. You get the idea. Ready to try it?

Keep it simple with a bit of text

Add in a new Rich Text Area field and briefly describe your program or resource. Be sure to include a link to where readers can find more information.

You can make it even simpler by just reminding readers that any item may be available in digital formats like Surrey Libraries did. Book jackets and titles are llinked to your catalog records through a keyword search for that item's author and title, regardless of format. You have the option to change the type of catalog linking used for a particular book in an issue.

Target your promotions based on readers' interests

Add an online resource related to the newsletter genre or topic.

Or add an upcoming event related to the newsletter genre or topic like Jacksonville Public Library did.

Use one of our widget templates to create a promotional graphic then insert it to a NextReads newsletter issue. Include call-to-action buttons to encourage readers to participate.

Get attention with an e-book or e-audiobook button

Using a call-to-action button can make it easier for patrons to get the e-book or digital audiobook version of a title.
Click on the annotation to access the pop-up menu and click the pencil icon convert the annotation to Rich Text. Insert a button image from the LibraryAware Image Selector and link it directly to the item's record in your catalog.
