I want to post to social media

It's easy to post what you have created to Facebook and Pinterest in LibraryAware, or save your item as an image to use on Instagram, Twitter (X), or any other platform!

An Administrator on your account will first need to authorize your account under the Admin tab. Only Publishers and Administrators can post to your library’s accounts.  

è Post an item (widget, flyer, etc.) to Facebook

è Pin an item to Pinterest

è Save an item as an image to post to Instagram or other platform


Post an item (widget, flyer, etc.) to Facebook:
  1. In LibraryAware, select the FOLDERS tab from the main navigation toolbar. 

  2. Open the folder containing the item you want to post.

  3. Find the thumbnail of the item and hover over it to locate the three dots menu. Click on it to open sharing options.




  4. Select Share on Facebook




  5. This will open the Create Social Media page.


POST OPTIONS

Facebook Status: If your library has multiple Facebook pages connected, select the gray Facebook Status button at the top of the page and select the page you want to post to.

Post Content: Enter the text you want to include with your post in the Post Content field. Note: There is a character limit for Post Content. Watch the character counter below the the Post Content box.

Edit Link: The post link defaults to the browser view of the item. Change the link by selecting the Edit Link button. We recommend editing the link to drive users to your library website, catalog, event calendar, or video. See also: Why are social media links in LibraryAware shortened?

Images and Attachments: The image defaults to the item you selected to post. If you want to remove this item, hover over it and click the X that appears. To add a new image, click the + icon. Note: Facebook posts can only include 1 image.

Email me when delivery is complete: Select the checkbox if you want to be notified by email when your post has been posted to your Facebook page.

  1. Choose to Post Now or Schedule For Later.

Post Now: Select the Post Now button to post immediately.

Schedule For Later: Select the Schedule For Later button to schedule the post for a future date/time. Select you date and time then click Schedule Post. Note: The scheduled time will take into account the time zone that your Administrator set in the Basic Settings for your organization.


Once you've posted or scheduled your post you will see the Schedule page for the folder. For each Item you can view the channel it was published to, the publication date, and the expiration date. To view the schedule of posts from all folders in your organization, see the Folder Schedule page under the REPORTS tab on the main navigation toolbar.

NOTE: You can also post to Facebook from the Editor by clicking the Publish icon (up arrow pointing to horizontal line) and selecting Facebook.



Pin an item to Pinterest:
  1. In LibraryAware, select the FOLDERS tab from the main navigation toolbar. 

  2. Open the folder containing the item you want to post.

  3. Find the thumbnail of the item and hover over it to locate the three dots menu. Click on it to open sharing options.




  4. Select Share on Pinterest




  5. The Share this content page will open. Click the red Pinterest Save button at the top of the page.




  6. A window will open for you to log in to your Pinterest account, where you will be asked to select a board and enter a description for the post.


NOTE: You can also post to Pinterest from the Editor by clicking the Publish icon (up arrow pointing to horizontal line) and selecting Pinterest.



Save an item as an image (PNG) to post to Instagram or other platform:
  1. In LibraryAware, select the FOLDERS tab from the main navigation toolbar. 

  2. Open the folder containing the item you want to save as an image.

  3. Find the thumbnail of the item and hover over it to locate the three dots menu. Click on it to open sharing options.




  4. Select View Image




  5. The Share this content page will open. 




  6. Right click on the image and select Save image as...




  7. Navigate to the location on your computer you want to save to.

  8. Name and save the file.
