How do I post to Facebook, Instagram, or Pinterest from LibraryAware
*To post to Facebook or Instagram, an Administrator on your account will first need to authorize your Facebook or Instagram pages.
-
In LibraryAware, select the FOLDERS tab from the main navigation toolbar.
- Open the folder containing the item you want to post.
- Find the thumbnail of the item and hover over it to locate the three dots menu. Click on it to open sharing options.

Why don’t I see the option to post my item to Instagram?
If you have connected your library’s Instagram account to LibraryAware but don’t see the option to post your item to Instagram, you may have selected a template in a format incompatible with Instagram.
These template formats allow posting directly to Instagram from LibraryAware:
- Flyer-Books (Portrait)
- Flyer-Events (Portrait)
- Flyer-Signs (Portrait)
- Posters (Portrait)
- Widgets (1:1)
- Widgets (2:3)
How do I choose the right widget template for my social media post?
LibraryAware’s Widget templates create digital graphics that are perfect for posting online. These templates come in a variety of aspect ratios, and we’ve created this handy chart to help you choose the right widget template depending on your needs.
PRO TIP! The 1:1 widget aspect ratio works great for most platforms. Try including 1:1 as part of the keywords in your template search. For example: storytime 1:1
Will LibraryAware post anything my library has not created to our Facebook page?
No, only the LibraryAware users at your library with the user role of Publisher or Administrator will be able to post items to your Facebook page. LibraryAware will never post anything your library has not scheduled on social media.
When I post to Facebook, where will the post link to?
When posting an item (widget, flyer, etc.) to Facebook from LibraryAware, the default link is to a larger view of the item in a browser tab. You can change this link by clicking the Edit Link button on the Create Social Media page. We recommend editing the link to drive users to your library website, catalog, event calendar, or video.
Why are social media links in LibraryAware shortened?
When you share an Item from LibraryAware to social media, LibraryAware creates a permanent link to that Item using a short, social media-friendly URL. These persistent links allow us to track clicks on your Item so that you can view statistics for your posts.
Can I post to Twitter (X) from LibraryAware?
Although LibraryAware cannot be connected directly to your Twitter (X) accounts, it's easy to save an item as an image to your computer. You can then post the image Twitter (X).
*We recommend using the 1:1 Widget templates to create graphics for Twitter (X).
