How do I post a flyer, poster, and other items to my catalog from LibraryAware?

If your library is also a subscriber of NoveList Select and your administrator has added your NoveList Select profile information to your organization’s Basic Settings, you will be able to post items to your catalog.  Only Publishers and Administrators will be able to post to NoveList Select in your library catalog.

To post an item to your catalog:

  1. Click the Promotions icon at the top, left-hand corner of the page to open the All Promotions page.
  2. Open a Promotion by clicking the View Promotion link beneath the title of that Promotion. 
  3. This will open the items page, which lists all of the items (bookmarks, flyers, emails, etc.) associated with the Promotion selected. 
  4. From the Items page, click on a specific item to open the Document Details pop-up.
  5. Click Post to Catalog from the Document Details pop-up. This will take you to the Scheduling page.
  6. To post immediately, select the Immediately radio button.
  7. To schedule a post for a later date/time, select the In the Future radio button. Enter a date, and select the time that you want the Item to post.
  8. Select an Expiration Date to remove the post after a certain date and time, e.g. after the event has taken place. If no date is selected, the post will remain active even after the event has occurred. 
  9. Under the NoveList Select Publications Options, your library’s NoveList Select Profile information will display.
  10. Enter the Post Title that you want to accompany your Item in the catalog.
  11. Select the Audience(s) for the post. When your item is posted, it will only display in your catalog for the book records that share the same audience.
  12. Enter a Post Description to describe your item and what you would like to promote.
  13. From the Headings field, select the subject headings that you want to tag your item with.  Your posted item will be filtered by Audience first, then by the selected Headers to only display in your catalog for the book records that share the same subject headings as the item.  As you select your subject headings, consider the books that a patron interested in this Promotion would be interested in.
  14. The Post Image field will show you the image that will display with the post.  By default, a thumbnail of the item will display.  Click on the thumbnail to view the image in a larger size.  If you would like a different image to display, click the Select Image button.
  15. Check Email me when delivery is complete if you want to be notified by email when your Item has been added to your catalog.
  16. Click Save Publication Event, or click Go Back to return to the Promotional Items page. 

Saving the event will take you to the Schedule page with the Item listed with the date it is scheduled to post. 

To post an Item to your catalog directly from the editor:

Note: These instructions apply to templates that use the Lists editor, as well as emails.

  1. Click the Promotions icon at the top, left-hand corner of the page to open the All Promotions page.
  2. Open a Promotion by clicking the View Promotion link beneath the title of that Promotion. 
  3. This will open the Items page, which lists all of the items (bookmarks, flyers, emails, etc.) associated with the Promotion selected. 
  4. If you want create a new item, click the orange Create Item button and select an item type and template.  
  5. If you want to edit an existing item, click on the item and then select Edit Document from the Document Details pop-up.
  6. From the editor, add the content and make the changes to your item.
  7. When you are ready to schedule your item to post, select the Publish to… drop-down, or the Publish menu in the menu bar.
  8. Select the Catalog link.
  9. Your item will be saved and you will be taken to the Scheduling page.
  10. To post immediately, select the Immediately radio button.
